All things considered, DACA in exchange for cosmetic enhancements of existing border barrier sounds like a pretty good deal for Democrats. But then again, who the hell knows any more.

Seriously? For temporary protections he can overturn with an Executive Order, which he’s done in the past?! I guess you don’t care.

How could he overturn by executive order something which would be enshrined by legislative statute?

The problem is it's a waste of $5.7 Billion. We've had net negative immigration in the US for the past 11 years. Why doesn't some mainstream Democrat just say that?

Because it isn't true. The net immigration from 2007-2012 is PLUS 5 MILLION. And the USA is number 1 in that statistic by a long shot. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_net_migration_rate …

From what I hear is a temporary fix for DACA till next year, but it's already safe till next year because the SC has not agreed to hear it this year. So its the wall for nothing in return.

The 3 year limit on DACA protections is ludicrous. The border barrier is presumably a permanent structure, so DACA recipients should have lifetime protection. Since the Democrats aren’t actually opposed to a wall/fence, why not offer that up?

DACA fix is temporary. Adding more security on top of his 5.7 billion. They already got an increase.

Do you understand the ramifications of building this wall has to the ecologicially sensitive areas of the Lower Rio Grande Valley? The National Butterfly Center? Santa Ana NWR? Benstsen-Rio Grande State Park? The impact of losing eco-tourism dollars would have on the area?

$5MMM isn’t enough to build the whole wall. It would just hit already traveled areas.
