Why are you so insistent on imputing some kind of intention to absolve racism? There is absolutely no way to fair-mindedly read my tweet in such a manner.

You're right, it wasn't. My tweet was an observation about the tendency of teenage boys to behave cruelly when in large groups, and in this case the cruelty manifested as racist taunting. As usual, your first instinct was to engage invidiously.

The problem is your adding 'Its not excuse' to your OP was plainly an attempt to excuse the behavior. Bad acts are bad acts, them being common is horrifying, not an excuse.

So saying the behavior is not excusable is an attempt to excuse the behavior. Makes total sense.

I think "Teenage boys in large groups often tend to behave cruelly" sounds an awful like "boys will be boys." That's why people are reacting to the tweet the way they are.

Do you agree or disagree with the statement, "Teenage boys in large groups often tend to behave cruelly," and do you agree or disagree that such a dynamic could've contributed to their inexcusable behavior?

Given the fact that they were wearing MAGA hats & Trump regularly demeans Native culture (with his Pocahontas jibe) & they were harassing a Native elder doing a Native chant, foregrounding their being teen boys seems like a myopic analysis.

I think I did. But, if it's not clear: I think framing this as a matter typical teen boy stuff obfuscates what happened.

Because you're overly-parsing the structure of a sentence to suggest it was an excuse, when in fact the sentence contained the phrase "it's no excuse."

No. As someone who spent ages 13-19 as a teenage boy and surrounded by them I never saw behavior like that you're defending.
