Tulsi Gabbard will go after U.S. Middle East policy, particularly in Syria. Even if one doesn't intend to support Tulsi, it seems like everyone in the anti-imperialist camp, anti-war camp should be enthused about her participation in the public discourse on a larger stage.

The importance of challenging the military industrial complex in a public forum, hopefully on cable/network television, cannot be overstated.
-
Except she’s not anti the military industrial complex just intervention. As
@mtracey has pointed out she has in the past given strong support for drone programs and has tweeted in support of bombing in Syria that is targeted at terrorists. Not exactly anti-interventionist. - 3 more replies

Like not being sure about using torture as late in the game as 2014, that should cause understandable anxiety for anyone who remembers the Bush era
-
Opinion: Being pro regime-change is millions of times worse than being pro torture, because government collapse in targeted countries causes torment for millions of people.

She will 100% be used in the “splitter strategy” to help the DNC pick EXACTLY who they want. Better than cheating like last year.
-
Unless conservatives thwart their plan by registering as Democrats en masse to vote in the Dem primary for Tulsi. That would be so amusing.

The self appointed stakeholders are not going to make the same mistake they did with Trump with her. They are out early to nip her run in the bud. They can't afford another non conformist.

She holds some bad views, there are some disingenuous attacks but also some legit criticism about things she's done and said in the past

It’ll also bring her more exposure regarding national stage. She only benefits from running regardless of outcome. Bravo to her!

Starting off her campaign apologizing about past views on Gays dooms her. Bad move. You never apologize. The progressive left will eat her alive. She doesnt have the name recognition to overcome this. On everything else (except Syria which Trump is diffusing) Shes mainstream left
-
You can apologize if you have legitimately changed course, but she hasn't. Her claim is she now supports LGBT+ rights legislatively, but has not changed her personal views, which included referring to "homosexual extremists" on multiple occasions as a Congresswoman.
