I was a Bernie enthusiast in 2016. I changed my registration to vote for him. I wrote a book about him. Here's why I desperately do NOT want him to run for president in 2020, and how he can instead best fight for his dream of a better America. You write that his 2020 candidacy would be "divisive." I ask: so? Why is that a bad thing? If you are promoting virtuous principles, "divisiveness" is not just inevitable but desirable, and should be embraced.

This article also makes the same absurd point @NYTimes did - since @SenSanders won on all of the issues, he should quit! What?! No, that means he is our leader. They're so biased, they can't even see how ridiculous they're being. What an insane, indefensible point. https://twitter.com/ejsgale/status/1082116807782289409 …

Exactly. If your policy positions are not helping poor and working class Americans, you should be divided from the rest of us. If you don't support Single Payer and a Green New Deal at a minimum, you should be divided. Having conservative policies in the party is not diversity.

Because he's a bloviating fraud that the Democratic base soundly rejected in 2016 and in 2018. But if he wants to be humiliated on a national stage again, let him run.

America and the UK would be so lucky to have Sanders and Corbyn. The main problem would be big business sitting atop giant piles of cash, slashing the economy just to make them look bad. "Liberal media" shat on Carter, smears Bernie, and Corbyn. #ManufacturedCrisis

It is a bad thing because it pulls votes from the strongest Dem candidate that could beat a Republican candidate. There is speculation that if Bernie’s votes had gone to Hillary, she might have won the EC vote in a couple of key states.

Virtuous principles? Which of those is Bernie promoting, precisely? He's spent his entire life dismissing claims of persistent racism as "identity politics", so apparently legal equality and social justice aren't among them....
