I was a Bernie enthusiast in 2016. I changed my registration to vote for him. I wrote a book about him. Here's why I desperately do NOT want him to run for president in 2020, and how he can instead best fight for his dream of a better America. My column:http://www.philly.com/opinion/commentary/bernie-sanders-presidential-run-trump-elizabeth-warren-20190113.html …

Tracey and Unger agree, this the best take is the opposite of what they say. Easy.

There is a difference between diversity and divisiveness....

Exactly. If your policy positions are not helping poor and working class Americans, you should be divided from the rest of us. If you don't support Single Payer and a Green New Deal at a minimum, you should be divided. Having conservative policies in the party is not diversity.

Because that's how we got Trump, and we're in very dangerous times.

Because he's a bloviating fraud that the Democratic base soundly rejected in 2016 and in 2018. But if he wants to be humiliated on a national stage again, let him run.

How about this? He was a fluke as no one really wanted Hilary. He is my high school commie English professor and like
@jeremycorbyn he is not ready to lead a great nation. -
America and the UK would be so lucky to have Sanders and Corbyn. The main problem would be big business sitting atop giant piles of cash, slashing the economy just to make them look bad. "Liberal media" shat on Carter, smears Bernie, and Corbyn.

It is a bad thing because it pulls votes from the strongest Dem candidate that could beat a Republican candidate. There is speculation that if Bernie’s votes had gone to Hillary, she might have won the EC vote in a couple of key states.

Virtuous principles? Which of those is Bernie promoting, precisely? He's spent his entire life dismissing claims of persistent racism as "identity politics", so apparently legal equality and social justice aren't among them....

He is calling Democratic voices/forces to unite in the face of Trump? U can go back to divisive/agonistic politics once the wannabe-dictator is defeated. Acc 2stats; either opposition unites; defeats the far right in the first election or it becomes impossible to get rid of them

The Democrats are't going to let an Independent steal their election.
