Someone shouts an epithet and suddenly there's a revolution in Democratic messaging. I've no particular issue with Rep. Tlaib; more the instinct to latch onto scintillating rhetorical flourishes for emotional gratification, and then calling it political progress. Kind of silly.

Well said! 👍As a progressive, my issue with neo-#Democrats, lauded sans discernment, is not that they are critical of #Trump, but that their critiques are not founded on points of principle. They are cult-figures who turn a blind-eye to #Clinton crimes. https://medium.com/@An0nKn0wledge/the-clinton-body-bag-saga-and-how-seth-rich-dncfraudsuit-may-finally-be-the-end-of-their-da6c37d0bb4b …

Couldn’t this criticism apply to all of politics among the 2 major parties? Keep the voters occupied with frivolous theatrics so they don’t question underlying institutions and foundational assumptions.

Her epithet was in the context of an intent to action. Agitational rhetoric is necessary to inspire, organize and then seek commitments. I am a nice person for being so agitational! ;) ;)

The other unwritten story here is that after about three years of totally disingenuous pearl-clutching and moralizing about Trump's "vulgar" and "unbecoming" rhetoric, the Dems have now waded in waist-deep.

I have an issue with it. Dems hold up BO's speeches, demeanor in contrast to Trump & rightfully so. But when a Dem sinks to the level of Trump they're all applauding. Know I'll take heat, but I'm clutching my pearls over her lack of control & vulgarity

Very well said! I actually don’t have an issue with her comments (I do, but as a whole..)but I’m sick of the hypocrisy-from both sides of the political spectrum! My favorite line from 2018: “When they go low, we go high”??

A cheap attention grab. Congratulations to both Trump and Tlaib, they’ve really “made names for themselves,” as that expression goes.

I wish all of our representatives in the government would behave with a modicum of class and decorum. (instead of like teenage girls fighting over a boy that doesn't want either of them)

Exactly. Picture Lincoln or Washington saying mf or a priest or minister. I'm sure powerful ppl curse and/or get vulgar in private life but public image means a lot. Shall our leaders use barroom talk or speak like statesmen.

It's the political equivalent of a high school guidance counselor desperately trying to convince you he *understands your problems* by saying "shit" in your presence.
