He focuses on the link between marijuana and psychosis, which may well be present (although again, the way it's characterized in the op-ed is dubious). But even so, arresting and charging people for possessing the drug is a far greater overall danger.

"Whatever danger" Cannabis is just about the least dangerous substance used by man. Cannabis and danger don't belong in the same sentence.pic.twitter.com/zToKFBx6vj

Study that purports to show weed use leads to illegal opioid use asked illegal opioid users in “moderate to severe” pain if they had used marijuana first. They had. Duh! By this method, ibuprofen use or just rubbing the sore spot leads to opioids!
-
As for weed use exacerbating schizophrenia and other mental illness — back in the ‘60’s we had a motto for that: “Never give drugs to crazy people.”

Author is paid period. How many poisons are on the market that marijuana can’t dream to be but are sold as food or medicine?

All drugs should be decriminalized and legalized, and regulated with purposes of safety.

Dealers and growers often mix weed with other shit to give you a higher high or just make it stronger in smaller amounts. Same thing as we observed during the prohibition where people would make alcohol(potentially deadly) at home. The more you fight it the worse it gets.

Your use of the word "whatever" is interesting. It suggests ideological capture. If the consequence of legalisation proves to be large scale serious psychosis that harms more people more seriously than the penalties for use did/would, why would such penalties be unjustifiable?
-
Weed is so easy to buy that legalisation won’t really affect the amount of users. You can buy it anywhere. It would actually benefit the society by taking out dealers who often lace it with some nasty shit to get better sales by selling “good quality” high.

The article says that violent crime has increased along with legalization, without noting the Ferguson Effect at the same time, or noticing that since marijuana sellers can't use banks, they tend to have piles of cash, making them targets.

Hasn’t been good for Colorado. Violent crime and murder rate are at all time highs since. No more minor possession issues but big drug crimes all have gone up. Homelessness immediately surged 8% after legalization. Utopia!

If the govt truly wants to eliminate the black market and the violence that comes with it they need to be more competitive in pricing and make legal cannabis less expensive than its counterparts. Otherwise it's accomplishing nothing and the black market sales will remain.
