On some level you can't help but be intrigued by Jerry Brown. @notjessewalker is a notable chronicler of his various idiosyncratic political phaseshttp://reason.com/archives/2009/10/14/the-five-faces-of-jerry-brown …

It's the one thing he's said that makes sense. Legislators don't create greater freedoms; the create more laws/restrictions with a potential for more penalties...

I wonder how history will View Governor Brown. I've been around long enough to see the vibrant California in the 70s when he came on the scene to the socialist catastrophe that he engineered during the past 40 years.
-
Brown would be re-elected in CA for the remainder of his life if he was able to run

to counter corporate polluters via regulations, it’s not ideologically purism for me, but I don’t see any other way right now. the problem is that CA kept leasing fossil fuel projects because their revenue (ports, shipments) are driven by a global system run on fossil fuels.

Didn't he also brag about signing 1000 laws?
-
He butted heads with CA Dems on several issues and vetoed several bills.

I’ve been intrigued for several years. A bulldog that shares my interest. I had no idea he complained about taxing the rich / too many laws.
He can’t wait until politicians prostrate themselves for $$. And he is kind of President of the West Coast. I prefer Gov. Jay Inslee, tho -
He might have been counterpunching NYT’s insinuation that he didn’t fix the “notoriously volatile tax system”—saying he LOVES tax reform, in jest. Telling of NYT re: regressive tax policy, fiscal restraint, foreboding of Trump, climate. As if latter can be mitigated w/ austerity!

Jerry Brown is an interesting guy, but I can't believe he's chosen climate change as his cause. I just don't get it, and I consider myself to be a pretty major treehugger. Climate change is not environmentalism IMO. It's a scheme to control everyone.
