It'd be nice if people insisting that they're for the Syria/Afg withdrawals, but want them done the "right way" or something, would admit that the "right way" -- i.e., following the typical bureaucratic chain of command -- would almost guarantee that they never actually happen.

”the right way” on immigration, the ”right way” on healthcare, ”the right way ” on withdrawing from the Middle East... They repeat the same mantra and nothing happens year after year. When Trump says ”is time to get out & save money & lives” everyone gore nuts

For me, every time I’ve been somewhere illegally, the “right way” to leave also happened to be the quickest.

What's funny is watching a meltdown every single time he simply completes a campaign promise. It is so foreign to them to actually function like that, that they can't fathom it.

It’s a political statement. Neocons say that to get people from the left and far right (who are disenfranchised with Trump) who want no war to agree with them. They say that statement knowing exactly that the withdrawal using this process would never happen

I agree with the withdrawal , but I also worry about the Kurds. I don’t see asking for negotiations between the Kurds and the Turks so that no more bloodshed occurs. Caring for them doesn’t mean not withdrawing but pushing even further

Yes, add to the platonic wishful thinking Xmas list, ISIS and Russia ending its hostile activities and Mideast peace while we're at it. Then we can have the way of the doves

No joke here, the Syrian war hawks currently believe anything that delays until February will mean Trump is impeached and the war can continue unabated. They're saying anything that will delay. Mueller timeline announced within hours of Mattis resignation.
