If people think our govt would ever help the Kurds over a crucial NATO ally, they're smoking some good bud. The Kurds were always gonna get shafted, just like the Yemenis

For all commentators: War on Drugs: Hypocrisy and a fraud War on Terror: Hypocrisy and a fraud Are drugs and terror real problems? Sure they are. Who helped create these problems? How many died before being acknowledged as a significant threat?
-
How many died after gvt intervention? How much money was spent and being spent enforcing gvt policies? Who benefited financially from this? Humans are capable of greatness, yet we keep making the same '''mistakes'''.

Michael, I value your insite, except this. A war is not ending, is it? It's just our interests won't be protected. The soldier above all others prays for peace, for it is the soldier who must suffer and bear the deepest wounds and scars of war. Douglas MacArthur

What are those interests specificly?

It's killing them that they can't keep killing them.

Spectacularly bad take. We are abandoning Kurdish allies and over 500K Syrians will have lost their lives in vain. As a country, we’ll never be trusted again if the Kurds are slaughtered. Though i’m glad that you know more than a four-star general like Mattis

I would think they are. It's like an old friend of theirs is critically ill, and they're helpless to do anything about it; one of their wars is on life support, and when a war dies, all it can do is rest in peace.

When you have an army that big you can't contemplate peace. When you have an industrial complex centred on war you can't afford peace.

What they need is another war, that’ll cheer them up for sure.

This is also why you need leadership that isn’t in the pockets of the central bankers

I’m not gonna criticize the troops. Fact is that working up the ladder requires some combat experience and if there’s no war then ... BUT every combat vet I’ve ever known would happily end war. Bring them home.

While there are some highly principled senior military officers far too many would be more than willing to trade young American lives for a general's star.

Wow, I'm impressed, I agree the military industrial complex must be regulated. Dwight D, Eisenhower when he left office made a whole speech about this. The fact is there is no larger case of socialism then the pentagon and its tax payer unlimited budget.
