Correct on almost every point - but not the last one. For the capitalist ruling class the quest for profits is anything but "bogus"; and there is *nothing* more profitable for them than the military-industrial complex.

To highlight the absurdity of US foreign policy in Syria, there was a time under Obama where DOD was backing one side of Syria's civil war, and our CIA was backing the other side.

Chomsky says we have to stay to protect the Kurds. I know "we" got help in "our" revolution, but are paycheck-to-paycheck Americans supposed to pay & fight for every ethnic group around the world that wants sovereignty? Just sayin'

That's incredibly disappointing but Chomsky isn't a diety

But it makes lots and lots of money
for the military industrial complex. Keeping America strong with billion dollar
planes that don’t fly and $100 toilet seats. Are there signs that we are waking up from Pentagon fraud? Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Notice they almost never try to make an argument from recent experience/facts in Libya/Iraq/Afghanistan etc.; it’s all cliche/bluster/smears. (“Isolationist!”)

“How we leave is more important than how we go in.” Another cliche that is impossible to respond to. As such, we’re still in Europe and Japan.

United States has used the Kurds and their allies in Syria. They have a high death toll as a result and now US is just walking away, leaving them to be attacked by another of your allies, Turkey. When you are using people like the USA is, you owe to them.

“Allies being offended.” In the case of Kurds they face enemy in Turkey or murderous Assad regime. More misery. Idk, maybe we should be trying to do least harm. Tho Kurds aren’t perfect, have done terrible things. A stretch that aerial cover would be tantamount to forever war.

I’m humorously waiting for Blumenthal et al to call Chomsky and everyone who signed his petition / op-ed “anarcho-neocons” for their “State Dept line” like they’ve trashed my friends for the past year. Maybe even the Kurds themselves.

That's the entire point. These conflicts cannot be resolved militarily. The only way to minimize the bloodshed is to leave as quickly as possible.
