Cockburn is wrong. Russia not unhappy by Americans leaving Syria but Trump is just paving way to Turkish tanks rolling over Kurds. Neither Assad nor Putin will defend them. French? Nothing more than throwing fists in hypocritical indignation, few French instructors will melt away

Why wouldn't we defend them? They'll be forced to make major concessions, naturally, and the kurdish state is most certainly not going to happen now, but still. Also, yeah he's definitely wrong and this is definitely a win for us :D.

Trump stays and supports Assad, a Russian puppet, and he's doing Russia's bidding. Trump leaves and pulls troops out and he's doing Russia's bidding. This is about TDS, not US policy.

Yeah that's flat out wrong. We were pushing for the US to get out ever since...well, since 2015, at least. It's extremely naive to suggest that we're not going to be okay with them finally getting out.

Less US bombing in Syria is not a bad thing. Give the devil his due & let the Pentagon weep.
