Most amazing pattern of the Trump presidency: the greatest media/political uproars always come when he behaves LESS bombastically than they'd like. When he declines to "confront" Putin. When he conducts diplomacy with Kim. When he removes troops from Syria. It's so bizarre.

It's amazing, but also perfectly logical if you think about it. Trump, maybe accidentally, is exposing the power-hoarding scam of the neo-center. He's like piss on litmus paper.

Trump forcing the left and media into becoming a bunch of war hawks is entertaining, that's for sure.

If Pres Trump said to be sure and drink plenty of water each day, the media would proclaim how bad water was for you, lol.

Because they have been selling "Crazy Trump" from day one. They can´t talk positively about him no matter what, as they have a captive audience that consumes that notion. And because the message is so radical, they can't move an inch or they will be branded traitors/sellouts.

Trump knows this and uses it in his favor: a minor, abstract, open to interpretation or contradictory statement and they talk nonstop about it. Notice how he usually makes a negative comment about someone/something, followed by a positive remark, so it can be read both ways.

It is about desperately keeping the Dem base together despite being a party of no principles now, only NPC's brainwashed by the deep state. It's about stopping the old (fake) two party system from being busted.

Sorry to burst your alt-right bubble but Trump didn't conduct diplomacy with Kim, instead he performed in his own self-created reality show and acted like Putin's lap dog. Belligerence is not expected just intellect and a rational factual discussion.

The way I see it is — genuine peace would be aligned with cessation of conflict. I haven’t been blinkered by the media (maybe even anti war types) into only seeing conflict as militarization. Resources, who is community, access to technology are the three factors.

I am anti war. I think most are well meaning but I am mindful the concern isn’t self-centered, absolution for US misadventures above all. I have no illusions about the US’s foreign policy but also no illusions about other actors. State & non state.
