Thanks General. It's the right thing to do when you don't share the same vision. 2 different visions=division. We need change & the Gen. wants status quo. For far too long our "allies" have taken advantage of our strength, generosity & $$. Playing too nice has cost US too much.

Like all people, especially in business, yet in foreign policy, too: it is not the idea, but the execution that create problems. Mattis and others would support a withdrawal plan; however, the whimsical 'let's do it now' was not practical or thoughtout well ...I think.

Maybe he felt the potential repercussions where just too great, and that he was honour-bound to resign?

Or maybe, it’s like his letter states. He is concerned about what this says to our allies, with whom we have made committments only to pull the metaphorical rug out from beneath them without warning, and the impact it will have on other country’s willingness to work with US.🙄

I read it as him not agreeing with Russia policy, China policy and oh.. Abandoning our Ally the Kurds to be slaughtered by the Turkey.. of which Turkey told Trump they will do. Seems it was more an honor thing.
