"Inter-agency process" is code for a cumbersome period in which all elements of the bureaucracy would seek to stymie, water down, and ultimately prevent withdrawal. Circumventing it is necessary in order to actually get this done without unnecessary delayhttps://twitter.com/mkraju/status/1075467190596456449 …

CORKER told me GOP senators are giving Pence an “earful” about Syria in lunch right now. “It doesn’t feel to me there was any interagency process” in deciding to pull out. “I’m not sure even the principles knew,” referring to agency heads, adding Trump just “woke up” and did it

This is one of the reasons it's actually important that Trump uses twitter, despite people complaining about it. Without twitter, not only would this be stymied and watered down, we the public probably would have never found out he wanted to withdraw in the first place.

Congress never balked when we jumped into this mess without their “approval”, now they’re pissed they weren’t consulted on the pull-out.

I think after the fiasco yesterday, he realized if he went through congress for everything, they would literally hamstring him with corporate power plays and warmongering. Him taking initiative means he realizes the fragile position he's in, and is trying to change it. Good.

You want to end or even just reduce warmongering, you are fighting a mighty battle on all fronts, from all parties.

They are only upset because Trump pulled a fast one on them. If he had given them a heads-up, I'm pretty sure Assad would have "gassed" his people again to give the US another pretext to remain.

That entire thread is full of "liberals" attacking Trump from the right. Apparently "forever war" is now a liberal policy position. :/

and we all must acknowledge that much of our congress is part of the deep state - McCain was running chemical weapons to ISIS in Syria through Cindy's "operation smiles" group. so, much of our govt are traitors to their country, and would create a false flag to justify staying

That’s what I think and why I believe everyone is scrambling to protect their flow of income. Though Iran is a concern I would look at Israel’s response to gauge whether it’s more than just about money and our continued presence is needed.@realDonaldTrump
