Why doesn't the FBI have to do a miranda warning?

Because he wasn't in custody (and even then, they sometimes don't)

#Comey admitted led#Flynn to believe it would be a casual conversation. Flynn even offered to take the agents on a tour of his offices. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/comey-admits-decision-to-send-fbi-agents-to-interview-mike-flynn-was-not-standard …pic.twitter.com/0YENxKRTWs

I'm not poor nor am I a minority, but I was raised never to speak to a policeman who wanted to talk to me.

My good friend, humble pal, lifelong colleague Andrew McCabe is always telling me to leave my lawyer (and my purse!) at the door when we wile away the hours with casual chit-chat about who phoned who on such-and-such a specific date, so this checks out.

"General, a few FBI agents are here to casually chat about -- (what's that?) -- well, they can't tell me what exactly they're here to casually talk about but they want me to repeat the word "casually" a few more times because, as you know, FBI agents typically have casual chats."

The idea that Flynn was duped in to shooting the shit with (or lying to ) FBI agents is undone by... Flynn himself. It is comical to argue on behalf of someone even as they keep saying, "No, no, I did that."

The casual nature Flynn took 2 FBI agents visiting him at the White House is something, more so that he felt the need to lie.

i kinda think that your lack of trust does not help you a whole lot if you don't have the money for a lawyer.

This seems like a good time to repost this video: "NEVER TALK TO THE POLICE (and especially never talk to the FBI or any kind of Federal law officer)"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-7o9xYp7eE …

The things he'lied' about: asking the Russians not to vote against Israeli settlements, and asking them not to retaliate for the diplomatic expulsions- are bog standard US foreign policy positions. What was he supposed to do? Urge the Russians to go nuclear?

He was supposed to not lie to the FBI.

True, but there is also a case to be made that Gov't insiders should know better than anyone how horrible their Gov't is. Flynn was in the Army, was he not? A friend spent 25 years working for muh law enforcement and the stories he has to tell would make your hair stand on end.

I'm reading all the comments here and do realize that Americans don't know who Gen Flynn is. This is not about Russia at all. It's way bigger, but you guys don't get it. Ridiculous!

Um, no. He knew that it was an FBI interview and that lying in such an interview is wrong.https://twitter.com/ryanjreilly/status/1075063833805365250 …

It's apparent now that lying to the FBI was not the biggest problem Flynn had, if he tries to beat it, he and most likely his son will probably be charged with more serious crimes.
