But if he wins a plurality of pledged delegates, even a large one, like 40%, they will go to a second ballot at the convention and superdelegates will choose one of the others.

If he succeeds in the early primaries, it will change the dynamics of the wider race

Yeah nothing will prove his critics more wrong than literally using the exact same playbook as Trump to try & force Democrats to support his egomaniacal candidacy despite only narrow support in the Democratic base… Shouldn't we be searching for a consensus pick to defeat Trump?
-
There is no consensus pick. Too many are "anybody but Sanders" or "nobody but Sanders."

That is why they are attacking Bernie aggressively and early. The voters will unite around Bernie before the centrists start dropping out.

No, no they won’t.

many of these people will not make it to the primaries. You had 6 main Dem candidates in 2016, all but 3 dropped out before the primaries started and 1 drop out after the first contest!

2nd round voting's gonna be a shitshow

They plan on funneling I’m sure. Use Castro for general fundraising then force him out and make him support some centrist like Beto. Then we get trump again and they’re all cool with that too. Same donors!

For example South Carolina 2016. Hillary 75% - Bernie 25%. *2020 SC —————— Bernie 25% Biden 20% Beto 20% Booker 10% Kamala 10% Castro 5% Schmuck 5% DillRod 5% Bernie just has to keep his 25% from 2016 (he will at a minimum), and he’d win SC for gods sake!

I think going into late 2019 It will be Sanders, Biden, Beto. After the first primary it will just be Biden and Sanders.
