Pretty sure Mike stopped caring what party partisans think long ago & he does what he thinks should be done. As Mayor he never gaf what critics said, he was as transparent & uninfluenced as a politician could ever be.

He was elected Mayor of New York City three times. This has not historically portended any other electoral success, but it’s not an insane basis for believing in your own viability. He’s also one of the few people who could fund an entire Presidential campaign by himself

"It is a well-known fact that those people who must want to rule people are, ipso facto, those least suited to do it... anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job." — Douglas Adams

Any potential candidate for Dem nomination should be evaluated on the question: which of the first four primaries/caucuses does s/he have a plausible chance of winning: Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina or Nevada?
-
Wall Street Democrats should have their best shot in New Hampshire, but it's hard to imagine the New Hampshire primary isn't going to be won by Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren.

And just imagine for a moment what you'd be like if you lived your entire life surrounded by enablers and yes-men. Imagine the utter delusion you'd be immersed in after 70 years. It's almost enough to believe your own bullshit. Or wear your hair like a toupée.pic.twitter.com/LYPekJ7FP7

Hillary's got lots of charisma, and friends of mine who've dealt with her in person say she's better in person than in public. But if you've been one of those people listening to the last 25 years of GOP Hillary-bashing, this may not be obvious to you.

Ugh yes, Bloomberg (and Cuomo) are really my only red-line candidates that would compel me to consider a third party of nominated. I am mystified why this plutocratic scold sees himself as a possibility.
