The CIA headquarters in Langley is named after George HW Bush. Don't underestimate the extent to which his life-long connections and shady dealings with the "intelligence community" has informed the glowing coverage of his death

I do not know enough to have a specific opinion on #41, but there sure is a whole lot to learn when you criticize men, dead or alive.

You could make a convincing case that his real legacy is the propaganda state the US has become since he was an agent back in the early 60s.

@omarqazi When that dead man was involved with bad foreign policy decisions, both as head of the CIA and as President, there's plenty to gain. For one thing, the reverence for the Executive branch is distasteful. The more light on faulty presidents, the better.

Sure, people will examine every move a President makes -- and rightly so. It's part of the job. But when you die, people say nice things about you. It's a cultural thing. Taking the responsibility of being President and protecting our nation is a huge burden, so some respect good

Preach it! Can't sweep a man's entire life, with all it's faults, under the rug simply because he died (at age 94 no less). HW Bush deserves the same amount of scrutiny as any other public figure. Let the chips fall where they may.
