Gulf War was "multi-lateral," but that's not a virtue unto itself. It still depended on fortifying US global primacy, and needed to be justified with lies and propaganda (later debunked). It solidified US entanglement with Saudi, which is a disaster. Enough bogus mythologizing.

the gulf war was the good war. Bush did everything to avoid war, warned saddam beforehand not to invade, tried to make peace, gave him 3 months to leave, created a coalition, took utmost care to avoid casulties. Bless bush for the war that liberated kuwait....

Gulf war was justified and needed, it was 43’s war against Iraq that was built on bad intel at best and falsified data at worst.

Fair enough, but multi-lateral was a feature, not a benefit. That many nations participated was part of the frontispiece. All global transactions rely on fortifying US global primacy (the US decides when it doesn't interfere). US & Saudi relations solidified 80 years ago.

Mr. @mtracey, would you be interested in a 10-15 minutes interview on the legacy of G. H. W. Bush and the media coverage? With your permission, I could release the result as early as today. Here is my latest interview, with Jon Schwarz of The Intercept:https://soundcloud.com/conversationswithslava/social-silence-colonialism-and-fascism-an-interview-with-jon-schwarz …

As in 2002/3 some lies were debunked in real time. The debunking was just ignored.

It also relied on the lie by Nayirah testimony. Which was based on lies and helped by an PR firm.

They keep pretending that the U.S. wasn't running spin for Saudi Arabia until now. Recall that WP, NYT, Guardian and many others were painting MBS as a reformer. Even now they want the relationship with Saudi Arabia just the despot MBS replaced with another despot.
