You can try to reconcile "Standing With Saudi Arabia" and "America First" all day long, but there's no necessary connection between the two. It's a contrived invention of the US foreign policy establishment with a different slogan glommed on for presentation's sake. A total joke.

Saudi Arabia might be one of the big keys to Middle East peace in the long-term. I'll eat all of the foreign policy jokes and slogans if we can get to something resembling that.

They are, but you'll see that soon and not long term, my foreign policy supports the process of peace in the region, and the lies of the press are not real evidence Greetings to you and sensible people

In case you did not notice The US, Saudi Arabia and Iran are in the middle of a proxy war in Yemen. If Saudi Arabia is forced to stop fighting there we may have to send US troops. Not something I want to do.

Yet the US Foreign Policy is consistent, quite real, and is a natural outgrowth of the Bretton Woods accords. There's nothing contrived about it. This is reducto ad abstractum nonsense.

It's actually pretty simple, Saudi has money, US wants money, US befriends Saudi.

The implication is that not standing with Saudi is harmful to America, Americans and their interests.

Is it? It's just "we stand with SA bc money as usual, but this time we don't even try to hide it for a change". One life, one thousand, hell on million "brown" life weight little vs billions and strategic alliance in the ME as long as we need oil and they have it.
