631 people are reportedly missing in Butte County, CA. Doesn’t seem like the magnitude of this disaster has been fully reflected in national media.

It's a rural area that most people even within CA never visit. No celebrity mansions. No adjoining metropolis. Can't understand why rural resentment simmers? Here's another grim example.

When 3000 died on 9/11, we began the “War on Terror”, which has cost trillions of dollars and countless lives. Somehow, I doubt we’ll spend even a fraction of that on combatting climate change, a legitimately more existential problem.

A fraction of that isn't even being spent on taking care of the #veterans, who've come back from wars that never should have been started in the 1st place!

look at the Calfire map. Zoom into the Camp fire. Go into satellite mode. Now you will understand the devastation. Paradis is not some tiny town with one street and a gas station. http://www.fire.ca.gov/general/firemaps …

Paradise is a town of 25000 people that was completely devastated. Next look at the area behind the town in the mountains and you quickly realize that it is one of the most heavily logged areas in California. You then learn Trump's forrest management comments are total BS.

the authorities have bent over backwards to say that it's not 1,000 missing, it's a list of people they have who they don't know where they are.

Walmart kicked folks out of their parking lot before they were even allowed to go back to check on their homes. Afraid of the homeless.

California doesn't do crap about managing infrastructure. Taking care of their resources. They let developers run willy nilly, build everywhere.Trump is right. Are there ANY fire breaks MAINTAINED anywhere in that state? Any water resources taken care of?

Nothing done to curtail building in dangerous areas, nothing done to minimize danger when fires,etc.,happen.
