Not being victimized by any violent crime is desirable from a civil liberty standpoint, but that generally hasn’t dictated the position of civil liberties organizations like the ACLU, who historically understand the necessity of defending the rights of the accused.

I think most people are skeptical of the source, the Trump admin generally and Devos specifically. I don’t blame them, and it seems to be designed to give schools an out for truly seeking justice.
-
Skepticism is reasonable, but criticism of the Obama-era policy has been far from confined to Trump supporters or conservativeshttps://www.thecrimson.com/article/2017/9/1/law-faculty-title-ix/ …

That's completely false, vast majority of what they do is defend free speech, civil liberties, etc.

Do you think in crimes of sexual assault there should be any special consideration given they are so hard to prove lacking as they often do physical evidence or witnesses? Or should the law treat it like any other crime?
-
Depends on whether you think it's better to let some guilty go free to keep the innocent from undue punishment or that we must provide justice as much as we can even if a few innocents are caught in the crossfire. I prefer the former but Ik some prefer the latter

actually the outcomes (regardless of intent) of the 2011 Dear Colleague letter are not uniformly supported by anti-misogynist feminists who work in universities and see those outcomes/unintended cinsequences.

Other organizations have similarly transformed themselves. The
@SierraClub, for example, used to be about protecting the environment but it's also morphed into a liberal advocacy org.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

When special people deserve more protection it’s not hard to move to the position that non-special people deserve less protection.
