631 people are reportedly missing in Butte County, CA. Doesn’t seem like the magnitude of this disaster has been fully reflected in national media.

Number of reported missing is now 1,011 -- which is almost hard to fathom -- along with 71 deathshttps://www.redding.com/story/news/2018/11/16/camp-fire-update-death-toll-missing-increase/2031307002/ …

These towns in the foothills of the western Sierras have high poverty rates. They are also the parts of California that most voted for Trump in 2016. These towns are left behind by economic globalization and never recovered from the 2008 meltdown.

You’re maybe not from around here, but I’m living at the site of last year’s wildfire and there’s lots of donation drives going on in CA, just as those people donated to help us last year.

Still remembering the left's response to the fires that swept Gatlinburg, TN shortly after the 2016 election. Almost universal response was the "climate deniers" deserved it because they voted for Trump.

Yes because if there’s one thing that drives people to vote for Donald Trump it’s when Entertainment Tonight AND Inside Edition neglect to cover their house burning down or their coal mine closing.

The fire started on federal land. Where is the president and federal response? Why is the media covering for him?

While I feel the horror of what has happened to these folks, I don't see that it necessarily justifies "simmering resentment." If they voted for climate change deniers, then they aren't voting in their own best interests and helping their own cause.
