Because if they don't vote for the outcome I "deplore" then the outcome may be much more deplorable. Have you seriously not thought about this for longer than 10 seconds at any point in your life?

Because more votes dampens the ability for outliers and schemes to skew the results. Basic statistics.

George Will made this argument in the 80s vs motor voter. If the people are our rulers, why encourage low information voters to chase a shiny object like socialism and vote for their own destruction. Educate voters to vote for Liberty & if the others dont so be it

Question for the snarky Twitter crowd who think it's cool to take sniper positions against some of the only tools that we know could work to actually affect change in this country. How would you make change?

Wrong. The majority isn't absolute, which is why we have the Senate to protect, as Madison put it: "The Minority of the Opulent" against the majority. Also, authoritarian or democratic, neither endows you with a "spine"...Both can be weak, strong, or neither. It's irrelevant

In my experience it's just plain doublethink. Those same people who tell you that you MUST vote would be just as happy to see, for instance, trump voters lose their right to vote.

They believe the more people who vote will vote democrat. When they find out some might not. Voter shaming and demeaning others is a given. They're also very selective on this as seen with Charlie Baker which the
