The creepiest aspect of these "government alerts" is that no one consciously opted into them. Somehow the government just acquired the power to simultaneously commandeer every smartphone in the country, and no one particularly noticed.

FCC still controls wireless communications and sets the rules. You can turn them off in settings. Just have to opt out.

You already knew they had the power to listen - how far a stretch can it be that they would eventually use it to alert now? Or perhaps 'command' in the future?? Doesn't that just give the warm fuzzies?

The government has had the power yo tap into and.control our phones for at least 15 years. If you needed this thing today to realize that, then I feel for.your ignorance.

Uh, this is nothing new nor is it a USA thing. We had these same national alert texts all across Canada a long time ago. You're just getting your version of it. It's an upgraded version of television and radio alerts which "infiltrated" those as well.

Probably be a huge false flag event, that will get blamed on a foreign entity like russia, china or NK, but it will be from those in charge, within the borders.. You know, the establishment motto is 'Ordo Ab Chao' (Order Out of Choas)

I have a love-hate (mostly hate) relationship to my smart phone. Having one decidedly does *not* feel like freedom, at least to me.
