Even if you believe Kavanaugh is the victim of a despicable partisan attack, and even if you believe he had every right to employ deceptive tactics in order to ward off that attack, you can *still* acknowledge that he made multiple false statements under oath. Really, you can.

Problem #1: this is no kind of evidentiary standard: "while these aspects of Ford’s allegation might lead us to demand more proof, they in no way make it inconceivable." "Does the evidence make it inconceivable" is not a good standard for anything really.
-
Problem #2: interpreting "I never attended a gathering like the one Dr. Ford describes in her allegation" to mean he said he never drank beer with friends at a house is a rather absurd interpretation.

How about: "Kavanaugh participated in a Congressional Hearing to determine the credibility of his accuser's claim, made statements about his drinking from 30 years ago that can be twisted in a way to turn the matter into a witch hunt because the accuser's claim was non-credible"

If he is not confirmed, and they put Amy Coney Barrett up before the election, Dems would have to bash the woman every day for a month. I dont care about Kav. I also don't see how you can prove "boof" or "I didn't black out" is a lie.

Always playing it cute, standing to the side and chirping. Ok it's "coherent," understood. But do you personally think it's VALID? What do you actually believe?

Given our media bias appeals for coherent analysis are a sick joke. More like garbage in garbage out.

If a prosecutor puts 4 “witnesses” on the stand, and each testify they have no recollection or knowledge of the alleged crime, it’s reasonable to characterize them as refuting the Gov’s charges. Nor was it deceptive for Kav to defend himself similarly.
-
Indeed, if an alleged event did not actually happen, what is the difference between non-corroboration and refutation? (when we’re talking about the accuser’s named witnesses).

Your intense focus to fact check individual statements made by Kavanaugh and implies that is the primary basis of his supporters’ outrage. Its too bad you aren’t challenging yourself more to understand and reconcile the most legitimate arguments on both sides of the issue.
-
I think he’s a good man who’s been put into a nearly impossible situation by ruthless and unethical politicians and their media allies, who have suborned perjury and leaked confidential information, and he’s doing his lawyerly best to survive in a Star Chamber atmosphere.

Does admitting Kavanaugh lied = admitting defeat on his nomination? Is it possible to think that Democrats tactics of waiting and leaking Ford's accusation so underhanded that it justifies fighting fire with fire in a sense?
