Trying to prove "perjury" is a dead-end and not even necessary. Kavanaugh made multiple false or misleading statements, which in aggregate indicates a clear pattern of deception. That should be more than enough to disqualify him politically.

An accused person is under no obligation to give the opposing side ammo to use against him. Painting things in the best possible light without lying is understandable.

Actually, a federal judge testifying under oath does have an obligation not to engage in a pattern of deception by making multiple false statements, no matter what the circumstance.
