The point isn’t how successful the FBI will be—the point is to ask: why resist it even if you think it will be useless? What’s the harm? Why fight it?

He should have said it’s up the committee. The idea that we should now compel people who believe they are innocent to demand investigations of themselves seems... abusive.

You managed to turn an argument that we can properly make a negative inference from the fact that he tried to stymie a fact finding mission into an argument that we think victims could be "compelled" to order investigations on himself. I noticed.

He hasn’t stymied anything. There’s no obstruction and he has cooperated. He merely resisted pressure from Democrats to instruct Grassley to run the Judiciary Committee in another way. I’d work on your powers of observation.

Hey Michael—so which is it? Do you think that Kavanaugh told the truth under oath, eg, about “Renate”, about his drinking habit, or do you think that being railroaded gave him the right to lie?

No one ever has the right to lie. Repeatedly asking anyone this is akin to asking whether I believe people have an entitlement to commit fraud or abuse. Please stop. My BS detector is going off on his answer on “boofing.” I think he hasn’t outright lied about his drinking.

On “Renate”, I think it’s possible the intended effect in the yearbook is to look like a boast of sexual conquest, even if the private ‘real’ meaning is just that they each took her to events when not having another date.

So, he may be lying or he may be misleadingly putting all the emphasis on the private “real” meaning. On Devil’s Triangle, I could be convinced either way

Here's just one example for people who refuse to read. Kavanaugh claims he "never attended a gathering like the one Ford describes." The gathering Ford describes *perfectly matches* a gathering listed on the very calendar that *Kavanaugh himself provided* as exculpatory evidence. pic.twitter.com/WjzCeHIWHx
