This intensive Talmudic analysis of Kavanaugh’s yearbook references is getting bizarre. Slang terms evolve, teenage inside jokes are often multi-layered and inscrutable to outsiders: just seems like a really trivial fixation when there are so many legitimate reasons to oppose him

Some of these pop culture references could've been twisted and contorted, and then layered with meaning specific to his jerkish little friend group. I agree that in aggregate he's painted a misrepresentative picture of himself, but litigating individual references seems crazy.

This lays out an extremely clear and persuasive case establishing Kavanaugh's pattern of deception. (I still don't think the case hinges on the precise meaning of in-group yearbook references, but that doesn't detract much at all from the core argument)https://www.currentaffairs.org/2018/09/how-we-know-kavanaugh-is-lying …

Hair-splitting, meaning exceedingly precise evaluation of claims, is exactly what’s needed here to ascertain the truth.

Yea, no it doesn't do that. Its an exhaustive attempt at plausibility and making mountains out semantic molehills. Evidence may be out there but this is not it.

He ACTUALLY said: "The core of why we’re here is an allegation for which the 4 witnesses present have all said it didn’t happen” What they said was they don't recall a random summer night hangout from 36 yrs ago. Kavanaugh's claim is astonishingly deceitful or logically deluded.

The core argument appears to be that a lack of evidence can be fixed without providing evidence. Which will always be unpersuasive. Author's specific points are weak, ranging from selective quoting, to being upset at answers that provide extra context, to speculation.

Good article which goes to the crux of why Kavanaugh should be removed from the judiciary.

I'm surprised you aren't arguing that Kavanaugh is "no worse than Garland," you know, since Garland is a mainstream moderate, not "my policy and views are the only truths and those who disagree are idiots or evil" kind of guy. And he's probably a "warmonger" too.

And yet the Democrats deify Beto O'Rourke who not only attempted to flee from the scene of a drunken accident, he flat out LIED about it on national television. Even the Washington Post called him out. Yet he is the Democrats' "rising star!!!!!!!" with all the mouth drooling.

no one thinks the case hinges on the yearbook but it’s obviously germane to his character & credibility, particularly when a line against Ford complains of no ‘contemporary’ evidence

Even if Kavanaugh is lying, he needs to be confirmed anyway -- our system can't function if orchestrated late hits like this, and the one on Clarence Thomas in 1991, are rewarded. @instapundit

@NathanJRobinson We saw as many 'lies' and inconsistencies in Ford's testimony as you saw in Kav's. The most troubling for me: Ford vacillating on whether the attack happened in '82 or mid 80s. Mid 80s is consistent with her saying she went on to have 4 hard yrs of college.pic.twitter.com/fBDrYaF2P2
