Picking nits. Clarence Thomas was coached to not come off as the "angry black man" stereotype. Kavanaugh's been personally attacked with his whole career in the balance. His raw testimony shows he is speaking the truth and not following a script.

Michael your takes lately have been all over the place. You really would call someone who have been labeled by the mainstream press a "gang rapist" blubbering into hysterics when in reality any of us would show immense emotion if we were put in that same position.
-
I disagree. Seems Blasey Ford held her composure and she had to move out of her house due to death threats. All of this is theatre anyway or else we would be talking about the McDonalds workers protesting sexual violence at work.

Couldn't disagree more. Kav's accusations are a massive, life-as-he-knew-it ending Apple to a pubic hair on a Coke can orange. And he was right, there was a well organized, well funded, incomprehensibly VILE character assassination campaign deployed againt him at the 11th hour.
-
Imagine how he felt as she watched his wife and daughters suffer. Of course he was emotional.

Wow, so the 'left' is now praising Thomas ... the man who gave us Citizen's United. Of course he was 'calm, cool and collected' he knew he wld win, and with the help of 11 Democrats .... people are losing their minds.
-
Pretty sure he was just making an observation.

Just about the worst thing Kavanaugh could have done is show no emotion. He didn't fall for it despite the media concern trolling over "bad temperament", which was exactly the right thing to do.

He acted as any good human would act when being run over the coals. Your thought of if one person acts a certain way vs another is strange. No two people or judges age going to react the same. I respect both responses from both times

I don't get statements like this. Surely many people found Thomas' cool & measured response proof of his heartlessness and guilt. People see what they want to see.
-
Possibly, but that's only part of the point. Thomas remained aware that this was a judicial confirmation process, and made an effort to at least appear to remain above the fray. Kavanaugh didn't bother, and went explicitly partisan.
