Every bridge and tunnel in New York is named after a politician. It’s really creepy.
-
So right. Who could forget the famous NYS governors Throggs Neck and Whitestone, along with the late Senator, Queens-Midtown Tunnel.

Old TZ was named for a different governor (Malcom Wilson) but no one ever used that name. Not the same degree of sign change as with this renaming though.....

There was a bill to rename the bridge after Pete Seeger that had a lot of popular support. Pete Seeger and Clearwater did so much work to get the Hudson River clean again.

No sir, & no unethical legislation to get it named either, correct
@andrewcuomo
@NYGovCuomo surely didn’t demand that the naming be approved in the middle of the night. And he surely doesn’t mind having taxpayers pay 4 new signage advertising his name prior to the electionspic.twitter.com/52IyxdExWtThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
