This entire charade is meant for international consumption. It’s designed to give the impression that it’s not business as usual in the White House in order to project an image of an “unstable” and “unhinged” president in order to leverage into concessions from friends and foes.

I thought all anonymous officials were a *media psy-op* to undermine western civilization or to be discredited. Now the same people are like — NYT obviously got played! My bet is PR for exactly Trump’s admin world view but saying they are smoothing off the edge.
