Obama cooly heralding McCain as an upholder of “institutions” and “norms” is the most stridently he’s ever going to attack Trump. It’s also quintessential Obama

Institutions, like the Atlantic Council. Norms, like never ending war

MEANWHILE John McCain, Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, worked very well with Obama, Commander in Chief of the United States Armed Forces, in assisting the armament industry with status, funding, development, procurement & distribution of weapon systems worldwide.pic.twitter.com/OH5TEocvNj

The eulogies are essentially a way for Trump’s political enemies to cloak political attacks on him. MSM knew hat would be the case going in—look at how quickly Meghan’s McCain’s remarks trended. That’s why they’ve been so keen to beatify John McCain—pure political benefit.

Those decorous norms like jingoism and American Exceptionalism. He lived by the maxim that bombing brown-skinned civilians into oblivion is perfectly fine because it's for A Good Cause: Maintaining US Global Hegemony to Protect the Wealth of US Oligarchs.

Yes that’s his style. But no, he was more sharp on rescinding DACA as a “political decision” - cruel, self-defeating, and wrong.

He hammered Trump prior to his win and became more circumspect, tho piped up on division & healthcare not being a healthcare proposal but a disastrous transfer of wealth under the guise of a couple tweaks without public hearings.

Obama illegally spied on his political opponents. That's why he remains so quietly aloof, he doesn't want to become part of this spy story.

I mean, mobilizing everything from the NSA to the FBI, on 3 continents, isn’t strident at all, so yeah.
