This a very insightful analysis of the McCain mystique. So many other reporters seem to have gone from trashing him during the Obama campaign, to lionizing him as the country’s conscience, without batting an eye. Thanks for a truly independent take.

They went after him too. And then when it suited them they were behind him.

What I miss is the spot on McCains influence on the NDAA Act. He is one of the main assholes who made the indefinite detention and the mass surveillance of US citizens "legal". I see this as the biggest threat to the freedom of ... the entire world!https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=91&v=JqPi8co4m20 …

Then was used to start an investigation of a crime which there never was! Still, we have seen who the bad guys are becuase Trump did not use his power. But tonight, the President said, "I will use my power if I have too. What is happening is a disgrace!"

One thing I definitely give Obama credit, is for keeping this crazy "uncle" out of the White House. Sure, Obama gave us the horrors of Syria, Libya and Yemen (on top of "old" wars in Afgh and Iraq). But with POTUS McUncle, we all might not be alive to be sorry about it.
-
I saw Obama in action and you are right! He made McCain look real bad! All I heard was the, "maverick"! McCain was slow. He was living in the past! America needed more! And Obama walked around him! I don't think McCain ever got over it! He started the Trump investigation!

We live in a world in which policy speak is considered uninteresting, esoteric or highbrow. The press (& public) is generally far more interested in people’s personal lives-especially if it’s salacious & mean-than their voting record.McCain knew this & exploited it w/ great aplomb

A super nice guy who did all he could to drop bombs on innocent people, thus creating more terrorists than anyone else in congress. Almost became president w an equally warmongering religious nut bimbo VP.

With friends like Schumer, Graham, Pelosi, Sanders, Gingrich, no wonder he got the money for his destructive ventures. How not to feel sorry for the American people who were duped and whose money was brazenly squandered.

He was an uncle alright, he was the uncle who touched little kids that parents told their children to stay away from & never get caught alone with.

Thank you! But my pain comes from the look on his face; I can never stop seeing before I fall asleep! His thump down with that smirk! He wanted Hillary in the seat! he was very angry and did things to get the ball started here to impeach our POTUS! But, I want him to rest now.
