“Robert Mueller has not been disgraced or discredited” is an assertion you can make, but labeling it a “fact-check” is why so many people now distrust “fact-checking”https://twitter.com/johnjharwood/status/1031581091096866818 …

The traditional journalistic objectivity doctrine is increasingly obsolete, so this pedantic “fact-checking” stuff is a new way for certain media members to hide their obvious value judgments behind a veneer of pseudo-impartiality

In what way can you factually make the assertion that he’s been disgraced or discredited so far?? If you can’t, then he *factually* hasn’t been disgraced or discredited, therefore Harwood’s “fact check” is right and your typically bullshit contrarian tweet is wrong

Whether someone is discredited or disgraced is a value judgment, not an assertion of fact.

As long as he is checking facts, why not ask Stephen Hatfill if Mueller is discredited?

John Harwood took an active role in trying to throw the 2016 primaries and election... so there isn't much from him that surprises me, anymore.

Fact checking has really fallen onto hard times these days almost as much as special investigators and the bullshit RussiaGate Collusion narrative.

I think it has a stronger basis than purely as ‘assertion.’ It could be called a statement? A view. Even a ‘fact.’ Certainly if the ‘reasonable person’ test were applied then Mueller has not been ‘disgraced’ & not yet...‘discredited’ despite best efforts from the bully pulpit.

Fact check: Robert Mueller lied about WMDs in Iraq. It has been proven beyond any shadow of a doubt that he lied about their definitive nature since it's been proven they never existed. Therefore he has been discredited

Mueller was at the Helm for lots of shady things, so I wouldn't say he is a man of "pristine" character.

My favorite is when the left dismisses something as “alternative facts”, as if their original set of “facts” weren’t cherry-picked beyond absurdity
