The murder of a young American couple in Tajikistan is being gloated over in online right-wing media because they dared to not assume the worst about humankind, but were subsequently murdered. It’s really despicable and cruel. Not linking to any of it, search if you must

Would you chastise the people killed in the October 2017 NYC truck attack for not having sufficient “situational awareness”? These attacks are exceedingly rare in Tajikistan. They were not in “ISIS territory”

Twisting murder into mere ideological conflict is the essence of evil.

I was not surprised that the bears ate the Grizzly Man, either. Smug and naive is not a healthy lifestyle.

You’re living an unrealistic fantasy life. Nobody does that, except a very few nut cases. It’s not a right thing.

But come on. It does SHOW the naivety of the Millennials and how out of touch with reality (outside of safe big city urban areas) they really are! Evil exist, ISIS and terrorism exist and they will KILL you when they have a chance! Tragic lesson learned ☹️

Yes, let's celebrate verification that the world is indeed a dangerous place so that we can feed our xenophobia.

Dude, have you been anywhere? It is a dangerous place. That’s reality, not xenophobia. I’ve been to dozens of foreign countries and it’s not a trip to Target. The court systems are ridiculous let alone the local criminals and that’s in the nice countries. Try Venezuela or Russia.

Meanwhile every leftist is ripping "all of our president" for giving condlolenses to the great Aretha Franklin. Wackos on both sides just a lot more on the far left/ socialists side.

I don’t see any gloating I see simple people pointing to the tragedy a cautionary tale people should learn from.

I think the point that liberals and liberal media defend Isis types is what makes the story interesting and thus the Darwin references. I put the media and liberals at blame for making these people do dumb things and to disregard the dangers of religious violence. Jmo

it's sad, and human beings react to such uncomfortable tidings in many ways in order not to feel bad. But the fact remains wishful thinking can be dangerous.
