“These are private companies and can do what they please” is such a deeply inadequate response to questions around social media / speech. Private companies have always had public obligations, enforceable by law. There is nothing new about this dilemma, and no need for fatalism
Under certain controlled circumstances, yes. That’s always been the case. ExxonMobile can’t freely pollute their private property with no ramifications
