      Jeet Heer Retweeted Michael Tracey

Michael Tracey thinks that promulgating the idea that the Sandy Hook massacre is a false flag operation, leading to families of the dead being harassed, is an infraction equivalent to chewing gum in class.https://twitter.com/mtracey/status/1028701184910143488 …

No I don’t, but I know how eager you are to willfully misconstrue what I say. I think it’s feeble and impotent, akin to a classroom environment, to constantly be appealing to private tech officials to “enforce rules.” Journalists who do this, especially so.

Wait, are the attempts to limit Jones on social media "feeble and impotent" or are they Orwellian censorship? Make up your mind!

I haven't used the phrase "Orwellian censorship" because it's a cliche that most often gets invoked to discredit people who raise concerns about the growing unchecked power of tech officials to regulate speech.

Confusion about 1st Amendment. Free Speech includes the right to say things that are untrue or that other people object to. The line is drawn at inciting violence or "yelling fire in a crowded thater."

Is Tracey’s position that Jones is some sort of journalist? Why should journalists owe some sort of special constitutional obligation of protection to someone who is basically a professional shitposter?
