The impulse to deprive others of access to certain "content" for their own good is paternalistic: and it used to be more associated with the "think of the children" Right, who wanted to censor TV, video games, etc. Liberals manifest the impulse differently, but it's still there.

Uh, yeah, dude, I don't want other people to harass the parents of murdered children.
-
The "just let other people consume the content they want!" argument kind of breaks down when said person is leading a movement to harass and intimidate innocent grieving parents and access to the platform is how he spreads this toxicity.

His Sandy Hook conspiracy theories and the suffering it caused those parents were mainstream news everywhere CNN, NBC, BBC. The idea his content doesn't permeate into liberal world is almost as bizarre as most things you say. Shorter: You're talking shit as usual.

They are the same people that try to vote shame *others* for how they vote. Bossy busybodies who think everyone must bow down to their views or be kicked to the curb.

You arrive at this glib conclusion if you think of media as something hermetically sealed, something personal that only affects & impacts only its consumer. Experience teaches that disinformation is actually more like pollution. Disinformation can actually destroy societies.

@fmbutt I don’t disagree with you but I do think there is a fundamental issue with using this method to get people to be less stupid. I view nativists and people banging the identity politic drum with the same level contempt. Forget the Russians - we did this to ourselves. - 3 more replies

So you think. A lot of people have seen that crazy bastard in action. Also, are you suggesting that people shouldn’t act on principle? Anyone with a soul hearing what Jones did to Sandy Hook parents would and should be appalled. This isn’t a free speech issue.

So when you're kindergarten age child is shot to death, and Alex Jones starts screaming your child never existed and your a crisis actor, you'll be good with that. Asking for a friend

"Silence those who doubt the official story! ...They've been wrong in the past, so they should never get an opportunity to be right in the future! ...What's the worst that could happen?" (Oh yeah, the USA REMAINS the number one incarcerator, moves closer to 100% totalitarianism.)

They want to control what we watch, it goes beyond
@RealAlexJones I have the right to laugh at his ridiculous bullshit and social media shouldn’t interfere with that. People are smart enough to figure out for themselves what is legit news not corporations or government. - 3 more replies

I question this "people" doing the clamoring. This is all happening in a world of bots and algorithms controlled by Silicon Valley, which has a definite slant and agenda.
