I've been accused countless times over the past 24 hours of "defending Alex Jones" -- again, it's so much easier to scream about how horrible he is than to grapple with the grave implications of his sudden cross-platform banishmenthttps://twitter.com/ggreenwald/status/1026933709507837952 …

Why do you put “dehumanizing” and “hateful” in air quotes like those aren’t bad things?

You’re defending him right now, so you’re obviously lying.

but.. these platforms 'adjust the visibility' of people, organisations, ideas all the time for a slew of reasons, there's been plenty of cause for concern previously - Jones doesn't merit fretting over as a special case. & we can hold those concerns while liking Jones' absence.

At the same time they took down AJ, they also started taking down libertarian/anarchist posters as well as antiwar ones too. Jones is literally the canary in the coal mine because people are ignoring the other bans.

Rather than proudly defend the honor of these crown jewels of American entrepreneurship, henceforth half the people in America wouldn't bat an eyelid if/when these flagships of free market enterprise are torpedoed by onerous regulation, domestic or foreign. A crying shame!
