Exactly. I get that leftist independent media personalities are afraid of another round of demonetization, but we shouldn't allow that fear to cow us into fighting for a Nazi's media platform. That never ends well.

Unfortunately many short-sighted Leftists are celebrating this because they love censorship when it's someone who doesn't share their world view. And they know Big Tech are on their side. For now. It's shocking how they can't see how terrifying this collusion is.

It’s an issue of violating terms and conditions. Not a left or right issue, as much as your identity politics want it to be.

Stop pretending that you're going to get private companies to act like neutral clearing houses for all manner of ideological nonsense. They have terms of service. Inforwars has broken their ToS numerous times. Why is that difficult to understand?
-
It came from public pressure & as if they don’t purge leftists regardless of what happens to Jones. In fact Jones organizing online to drum up support for right wing groups has directly led to their fascist movement steering our local state, law enforcement against us. thanks

I'm sure the parents of children who were murdered at Sandy Hook feel the same way, having to move over and over to escape his idiot mob.

Let's be clear about what the issue is here: https://www.seattletimes.com/nation-world/nation/suit-against-alex-jones-by-slain-childs-parents-in-court/ …pic.twitter.com/o6u87mGMFj

At first I thought, no. But then you think about the Sandy Hook parents who not only lost a child but had to move because of death threats because of what he was doing. Then I think he should be placed in a stockade in the middle of town for a year or two

Think of your favorite independent news outlet. Now picture them gone because that's where this road leads.

...? I’m sorry, I guess there’s no way I can get to infowars now. Oh wait, I can, by typing it in my browser. The same vehicle exists, just not on two different services. You can keep supporting it to your heart’s content.

@LieBusterSleuth@QUIGGYPAULS@MayaGodness@haloefekti@BarbaraMcK42@GeorgeSzamuely Alex Jones is not my cup of tea frankly but this whole affair sets an ugly precedent. It is high time other communication alternatives are set up, which guarantee plurality. -
Set it up. People have been trying to reinvent Facebook since it took off. Are you advocating for a government created message board? You still wouldn’t use it. You don’t like Alex jones being kicked off? It’s high time you delete your accounts. It’s how capitalism works.

I personally think Alex Jones is a kook but this is insane, censorship for having "incorrect" views.
