it is weird how “the media” is presented as a single entity. There seems to be a fear that by acknowledging the reality that some media are more “trust” worthy than others would open door to criticism. Therefore we are left with ridiculous choice to venerate all media or not.

Another common mistake is to confuse "platforms" with "sources." The WaPo and NYT are platforms which publish articles that employ varying degrees of authoritative sourcing. We have to learn to critically evaluate every piece of media we ingest.

Nate Silver is a tool of the oligarchy and has been for quite some time. As far as I'm concerned, he totally showed his bum in the 2016 election cycle. Most recent assessment says his net worth is $2million US, but I really doubt that is accurate and not seeing all of his worth.

I'm not sure why anyone listens to Nate Silver any longer.

What this says to me is that the masses are ripe for learning, and their eyes and ears are wide open, looking for direction. It’s up to those with social influence and klout to make sure they are getting the real information, before the tainted waves of MSM get to them.

Hmmm...it's almost as if Democrats' trust in mass (corporate) media is a direct reaction to Trump's vilification of it, and not based in any qualitative rationale of it's trustworthiness.

The National Inquirer and the NYT are both “media.” It is silly to assume they are both equally trustworthy and credible. Yet these ridiculous arguments about the “media” being the bulwark of democracy and deserving unblinking support and trust obscures this reality.

It's smart to approach just about everything w/some degree of skepticism. So be open to new ideas and novel perspectives while not fully/uncritically buying in to any of them. Also practice entertaining ideas we do not necessarily hold. Closed mindedness is our biggest foe imho.

#InstaHypocrisy Many times I've reported child nudity posts on Instagram. Nudity is against Instagram rules. An artist posting a female nipple was banned from Instagram. However, when I report child nudity w/in seconds Instagram informs me: "Instagram rules were NOT violated".Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
