If you want to present a reasoned argument against someone, OK. But cobbling together a jumbled array of bad tweets doesn't suffice. That just promotes the knee-jerk condemnation impulse, which is corrosive and stifling. And I don't care if the "other side does it"

except there are millions of capable, talented people who don't even remotely have these thoughts, let alone express them to the masses, so shouldn't "elite" positions exclusively go to them? is sarah so uber special that we miss out by excluding her based on her patent bigotry?

I don’t think you’ve thought this one all the way thru. You’re missing a few variables.

If it’s disingenuous, fine— but we are a very ethically immature society & social ethics mature (and politics follow) by challenging reprehensible views & those views going out of fashion. its currently a powder keg environment for an antisocial direction.

I agree that reasoned arguments are better & tweets can be taken out of context (I preferred longer form soc media.) Don’t know what you’re referring to but prefer ppl helming mass communications replicating less trash- I’d like to deter this profitability of capitalism.

I believe at issue is the MSM & by extension NYT fancies themselves free from reproach when judging others; to paraphrase scripture, they pelt the President and his supporters with 63 million accusatory pebbles while carrying/concealing this boulder.

Maybe so but when you recognize patterns that never seem to change, it’s troubling.

You're awesome but you're wrong here. The country's most prestigious newspaper has put on its editorial board an brat just four years out of law school who can't think or write, and who's quick to spew racist http://garbage.It 's perfectly fine to get worked up about this.

I think it’s still the “Let’s Make Them Play by the Same Society-Damaging Rules They Make Everyone Else Play by” phenomenon continuing to play out. Of course, for that phenomenon to begin the death it so richly merits, one side will have to forego a tat in response to a tit.

I agree. They should admit it was shitty but not fire her. People say outrageous things on the internet and it's ok if they learn and move forward.

We're back in 1966 USA where dissent went underground out of fear of the fascists.
