Prediction: pressuring social media companies to censor ‘content’ in accordance with the political preferences of self-important elites will eventually backfire in spectacular, cataclysmic fashion

Not only will it backfire -- it also reeks of political impotence. Constantly appealing to the High Priests of Tech to solve societal problems, imbuing them with unearned ethical authority, etc. Pretty feeble stuff

Tech giants like Google, Facebook, Microsoft and Amazon have more control and influence than politicians, and the more access you give those companies to your life, the more government wants their power. This is the beginning of #Techtalitarianism.

And it will only furthen the trend of these tech companies becoming de facto government agencies.

As the system becomes more restrictive and less trustworthy and more chaotic, I have a feeling people will begin to leave for platforms that offer consistency of rules and an emphasis on freedom of thought.

When Feinstein threatened the CEOs in a senate hearing to start censoring Russian ads “or else,” she made them agents of the govt. Congress can’t hire or coerce 3rd parties to do what the 1st Am prohibits them from doing directly Too bad the Const is dead

The Left is more interested in controlling what others are able to see instead of worring about what they see. Social media already gives each of us options to control what we see.
