You'd probably never know it, but Putin actually criticized Trump at that press conference. For withdrawing from the Iran Deal. The weakening of which has been detrimental to Russia's interests. That's just policy though, so who cares

First nuance and subtlety was not the lead on this press conference. Only one flaw in the logic. Russia's interests are advanced with US withdrawal so what's that now???

Are we sure withdrawing from the Iran deal is bad for Russia? If it restricts the supply of Iranian oil, and pushing up global oil prices, this is good for Russia, No? Also, do I really need to point out that you should not necessarily take everything Putin says at face value

Global oil prices are about $15 a barrel higher now than when Trump was inaugurated - this surely must be good for a petro state like Russia?

Yes after the election during the election he was asked and he said it was not his place to give an opinion unlike the US who meddles in other countries elections (not exact quote but close).

Sir..US has taken a unpopular stand on Iran.. Even India is not happy with the US pressure to export less oil from Iran.. Also Iran is a buffer for both India & Afghanistan from Pakistan whose Major export is Islamic Terrorists..

When someone (anyone, Republican, Democrat, or foreign leader) crosses Trump on one of his dearly held proposals, we always get a tirade from him. Except this time, again with Putin. It's all the exceptions. Until you deal with that, you're just preaching to the choir.

I heard that criticism being mentioned on a news broadcast, but if that weakening is against Russia's interest that might cause some caution about making too much of it, despite the fact of it being a good deal

He also tried to get Trump to criticize him on Ukraine, but Trump wouldn't follow the script. But it's crazy that we'd read anything into that, right? Definitely not weird to have one head of state feeding a purported rival his lines.

I was astonished this was ignored. Putin through a couple slight jabs at Trump and Trump did not respond at all. Shows these two are on different levels of international politics.

But what shoes/jacket did Melania wear, should we be outraged? Oh sorry that's number 7 on the agenda, right after we scream Nazi again, but before we scream about N. Korea. Although, i think they're gonna try and fit Iran outrage in there somewhere. Weekly outrage is confusing

Trump went against the Iran deal for Israel and even Putin can’t cockblock that relationship. While Putin has Trump’s admiration Bibi has Trump’s utmost attention because of the evangelical voting block and the members of his WH. But some of the Russia rhetoric is overblown.pic.twitter.com/2X48KO4lFd
