Notice how the actual life-or-death issues discussed at the summit, from Syria to Ukraine, are of almost zero importance to the US media. These issues pale in comparison to whether Trump winked or demanded vengeance for emails

I’m still trying to figure out why @KatzOnEarth is criticising @mytracey and Russian media for focusing on global life and death issues rather than parochial issues. Have I slipped into a parallel universe where the trivial supersedes questions of mortality?

To be fair , whether the most important event every four years to determine the fate of their country was influenced by outsiders should be of more importance than the state of Syria or Ukraine to the American People

did it change the votes, did it change the outcome, did it say Hilary should not go to wisconsin, michigan. Yes Russia tried to influence through ads. but did not affect the electoral process.

I've noticed this as well. I've read maybe a half dozen MSM articles about this summit and haven't been able to learn anything of consequence regarding the actual content of the meeting. Nothing but garbage journalism, propaganda, gossip.

Same goes to the Trump-Kim summit. Real issues are not asked, and “journalists” just did PR stunts.

And when @samhusseini asked about the most important issue, nuclear weapons ban, and was pulled out, the White House press corps couldn’t care less about the freedom of the press.

That's because a serious discussion would reveal that people in the US media & Congress are not serious actors with concern for their people. Its how they look to each other.

When in reality they just wanted to ignore the fact that Trump didn’t have any actual cards to play thanks to long-standing US foreign-policy and his own version of it

Whatever Trump and Putin discussed about Syria and Ukraine, will definitely not benefit the people - the vulnerable. So, you have no point.

Exactly. There were important issues that were discussed, media doing zero coverage of diplomatic issues, including non proliferation of nuclear weapons agreement between the world’s two super powers, that are not getting any attention.

Has anyone seen a report of any kind on the views of Russian people on the meeting? Even a vox pop? Can only find US perspectives reported in English language media.
