Many reasons to criticize the House GOP’s investigative focus but Dems seem to have gone with “you’re exercising too much oversight, thereby jeopardizing national security and undermining law enforcement” which is a classic anti-transparency argument. So incredibly asinine

Serious question. Did you actually watch the hearing?

Impossible. He could not have. No-one could be that disingenuous.

#Strzok's #SecurityClearance should be revoked immediately & then fired from the #FBI! Then perhaps indicted for #ethics violations & other reasons.

What's really "incredibly asinine" is to find any basis in reality that the oversight responsibility has anything whatsoever to do with a case by case investigation.

Ok Michael, how about you tweet out just one of the "many reasons" to be critical, just to at least present the appearance of not running interference for the GOP?

Government is staffed with humans, humans are corruptable and secrecy is a breeding ground for corruption.....what could go wrong with a lack of REAL operational oversight of all spy agencies. Freedom is in the balance!

Dem claims that the GOP is trying to disrupt the investigation, just state the obvious fact that defending the accused obstructs and delays the prosecution. The GOP raises valid evidence of bias & misconduct and Dem response is how dare you question the FBI.

There's "exercising oversight", then there's "give us all your files so we can help the people being investigated". That is what is happening, there is decades of precedent of congress deferring on info requests for open investigations. That went out the window in the Trump era.

Imagine having a time machine with which you transport a liberal from the early 1970's to today's hearing and you have to explain to them why the Democratic party is bitterly fighting against congressional oversight over law enforcement agencies clearly gone rogue.

It’s so obvious there is something buried somewhere, why would they outright obstruct certain questions?
