Perhaps the reluctance of Germany and other NATO countries to allocate more of their GDP toward defense is because the threat posed by Russia is nowhere near as significant as the US media would have us believe

This threat is more about US military and political elites wanting to keep their relevance in Europe. Many well paid jobs with high status are at risk if the US scales down NATO commitments in Europe.

Russia is not a realistic threat, still US and European think tanks, experts, news outlets, magazines, etc. produce streams of papers, columns, etc. on how Russia could, is going to invade the Baltic states.

Russia's will to engage conventionally is weak but in it's current state. NATO would have a longer fight on it's hand. They would win. But, you have to look to the future. Today wars are fought and won with the weapons YOU HAVE at the time, not the ones you COULD build like WWII.

It's not the US media... It's the US military industrial complex. Who, in turn, feed the media this FAKE narrative. The Russian threat is immensely profitable.

Then there’s the willingness of certain European countries who favor Holocaust revisionism and are experiencing neo-Nazi & Russophobic resurgences (some with the EU’s lowest GDPs) to make some of the highest contributions to NATOpic.twitter.com/b0i5RJu137
