Trump is such a rhetorical grab bag that there will always be stray comments you can latch onto to weave a certain narrative. But if you look strictly at tangible action, the record doesn’t match what media is selling re: the quasi-religious Trump/Russia origin story

That’s not even a “good” thing. Arming Ukraine and bombing Syria go against what Trump campaigned on and are both bad ideas. Trouble is, had he not done either of those, it would’ve been interpreted as further evidence of the conspiracy. An all-around warped dynamic

They’d be saying same rhings if Trump was bombing St. Pete. Complete, utter, ignorant, bloodthirsty people. Thanks for speaking common sense, but just like
@ggreenwald you are just going to keep getting accused of being paid by Kremlin

Breaking up NATO has to outweigh all else.

Germany is betraying NATO with their Russian oil deal and Turkey shouldn't be a part of NATO because Turkey was a secular country when they joined, not an Islamic radical nation.

Except he hasn’t enforced the sanctions that were overwhelmingly passed by Congress. He bitched and moaned about signing the bill, even threatened a veto. They’ve slow-walked every goddamn thing. Do you even read bro?

1)The US govt expelled 60 Russian diplomats and Trump was livid when he found out that we had led in punishing them. He just wanted a token expulsion. https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/trump-a-reluctant-hawk-has-battled-his-top-aides-on-russia-and-lost/2018/04/15/a91e850a-3f1b-11e8-974f-aacd97698cef_story.html?noredirect=on&utm_term=.44b8427f5947 …

2)He sent arms to Ukraine, and Ukraine stopped cooperating with the Mueller probe, for some reason. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/05/02/world/europe/ukraine-mueller-manafort-missiles.html …

Add to that the ramping up of oil production; pressure Saudi Arabia to pump more oil; etc.

Blowing up NATO is something Russia would sacrifice every single one of its diplomats in the West for.

I brought this up with a friend who has had his brain fried by Rachel Maddow and his response was that he was 'made' to do all of those things. He didn't really 'want' to.
