Journalists also do not typically get murdered for doing their jobs. It's exponentially rare, notwithstanding yesterday's gruesome event. Compared to roofers, the threat of violent hazard they face is miniscule.

It's worth being cognizant of for sure, but I do think there's a tendency on the part of media to overstep by instinctively connecting events to national political narratives, without any evidentiary basis for doing so.
